Preparing to Become an Author by: Compiling and Organizing Your Existing Articles
Beginning to prepare to become a self-published author can be as simple as turning existing articles into an outline for a book. As you group articles together, see if there are enough written on one particular topic or theme. If they’re non-fiction articles that contain useful facts, maybe you can write a short how-to guide or tutorial on the subject. This can be really easy to do, especially If you have a particular area of expertise.
If your reason for not starting your first book is because you’re afraid to embark on such a lofty endeavor, don’t fret. The idea of writing a long novel or large work of non-fiction can seem overwhelming. But you’ll find that things aren’t as intimidating when you start out by writing short ebooks that consist of multiple articles. All you need to do is develop an interesting theme, and be sure to weave the articles together in a logical and informative way. You’ll have plenty of time to write that first best seller, but for now, just concentrate on writing that first book.
